Announcing… Our new Executive Director!

April 19, 2018

Greetings!

I’m honored to join MENTOR Washington as executive director because of my lifelong belief in the powerful impact that one committed adult role model can have in a young person’s life. I’m excited to begin working with our stellar board and staff team to build an effective, sustainable public/private partnership to support quality mentoring and increase opportunities for youth across Washington state.

Prior to serving with MENTOR Washington, I served for over eight years as the executive director of Friends of the Children – Seattle, leading program development and expansion so that more youth facing tough challenges are receiving the support and guidance they need to succeed in school and pursue their education and career goals. Additionally, I previously served as the executive director of Washington State Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for four years, where I led a successful campaign that increased state funding for expansion of local programs that recruit and train volunteers to advocate for children in the dependency court system, and also served as a CASA volunteer. I’m excited to bring this transformative experience with mentoring, advocacy, and partnerships to my work at MENTOR Washington.

I’m excited to take this next step in my journey and join with local mentoring programs, community and business leaders, partners and supporters to advance our mission. I look forward to meeting many of you at our Spring Conference on May 14-15. Thank you for all your continued support for our mission. Please reach out to me anytime at kmckee@mentorwashington.org or 1-425.213.5844.

All my best,

Kelly
