Statement from Board ChairFebruary 2, 2018
On behalf of MENTOR Washington, previously Mentoring Works Washington, I would like to thank you for your dedication to youth in our state. We feel honored to work with over 100 formal youth mentoring programs in Washington and our new partners in schools and the workplace. Our new name, logo, and website align with our national affiliate, MENTOR, and allows us to leverage the extensive resources of our national partner.
For the past 14 years, we have dedicated ourselves to increasing the number of youth who have mentors and to improving program quality. We remain committed to this mission. Our core work includes training program staff and mentors, providing individualized technical assistance, helping new programs get started, and pursuing innovation through research and pilot projects. We are excited about our initiatives in workforce development and mentoring to reduce chronic absenteeism and welcome new partners in making these initiatives successful.
We feel privileged to work with people who are dedicated to helping children and teens facing a range of challenges across the state.
